After much effort, Kaifeng Zhenyun Qiyu Organic Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd. finally obtained its business license. Looking back on the experience of producing organic agricultural products feels like a dream—from ignorance to experimentation, from experimentation to verification and improvement, step by step. In the end, Kaifeng Zhenyun Qiyu Organic Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd. was established, experiencing every emotion imaginable—joy, anger, sorrow, happiness, and all the bittersweet moments.

Let me first explain how we went from knowing nothing to actually experimenting. Last year, on the fourth anniversary of Teacher Cui Yongyuan’s organic product platform 'Cui Xiaoyuan's True Selection,' Teacher Cui posted a video on YouTube, saying, 'My ideal is that, someday during Spring Festival, we can rely solely on the products sold on Cui Yongyuan's True Selection to make a sumptuous New Year’s Eve dinner—that would prove we’ve achieved something. Right now, many things are unavailable. Let me mention the simplest: ginger and garlic, which are extremely scarce safe products for us. Even if we manage to find a little bit of ginger or a few dozen heads of garlic, we can’t sell them—how could we sell such a small amount? The only option is to give them to people who buy vegetables. So at the end of today’s video, I issued a call to safe organic growers: if anyone can grow safe ginger or safe garlic, please contact us immediately.' That very evening I saw the video. My hometown is known for growing garlic, and I’ve been growing garlic since I was a child. I also know that completely organic garlic is hard to find. I didn’t expect that Teacher Cui’s platform couldn’t find organic ecological garlic in bulk either. So the next day, I contacted Teacher Cui’s platform and expressed that I could try growing it.

From Experiment to Confirmation: At first, I created a group chat with my friends who farmed at home and shared my idea, but I didn't manage to convince anyone. So I had to take action myself. I took back the 2 acres of land that my dad had originally allocated to me and started planting. The key to planting was to avoid using herbicides, traditional fertilizers, and pesticides, and instead find alternative solutions. First, to avoid using herbicides, I used light-blocking mulch. I chose a relatively thick weed-proof mulch typically used in orchards. The mulch was so thick that garlic shoots couldn’t penetrate it, so I had to manually cut holes. Luckily, my dad was home at the time; it took over 20 days for two acres of land to completely cut out the seedlings. Organic fertilizer and biological agents served as substitutes for traditional fertilizers and pesticides. After comparing and even searching for the manufacturers' environmental assessment reports to understand their production processes, I finally made a decision.
From Experiment to Confirmation: Later, my dad went to Kaifeng, and the home farm was managed by my sister-in-law. Field management for organic, pollution-free garlic was simple. Watering was done when necessary (and the organic fertilizer was flushed into the soil with the water), traditional pesticides couldn’t be used, and biological agents were used sparingly. The key was not to worry about yield. When harvest season came, the garlic was sent to Professor Cui's platform for testing, and the results were very promising.

From verification to improvement: Garlic sells very quickly on Teacher Cui's platform. On two acres of land, with a yield of less than 3,000 jin, after discarding the rotten ones, there were about 2,600 jin, which sold out in about a week. Later, the garlic heads that weren’t intact were peeled, and the good cloves were packaged, about 200 jin, and sold out again in 30 minutes. At this point, the partners saw the feasibility and organized about 24 acres across 7 fields. For planting efficiency, they specially customized a film-mulching and hole-punching machine. The setup includes an irrigation system (including a frequency converter, water-fertilizer integration device, irrigation tape, irrigation stakes, and sprinkler heads).

Latest progress: To better expand business channels, it’s best to do some promotion and set up a dedicated company 中文website: https://zyqync.odoo.com, English site: https://zyqy.odoo.com; the formal business license has also been registered, and work on registering the trademark is underway.
Producing organic and eco-friendly agricultural products is work of conscience. I don’t expect to make a lot of money; as long as we don’t fail, it’s a success. To the brothers working together, keep it up. To peers in organic and eco-friendly agriculture, keep going!!!!
